Members of Team Chumash, the volunteer group from the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation, will spend the morning of Aug. 10 helping out at Shepherd Giving Farm, Veggie Rescue’s newest program, west of Buellton.
Santa Barbara County, CA — Veggie Rescue, the Santa Barbara County nonprofit dedicated to rescuing surplus produce and other food and donating it within 24 hours to nonprofits serving hungry community members via their refrigerated vehicles, celebrated a milestone Sweet 16 and 5 Million Pounds rescued event on May 21, 2026, raising more than $125,000 in net proceeds.
As we enter November, I want to share a brief update and extend heartfelt thanks to those who continue to support our mission. We are grateful to Midland School for hosting our October board retreat and for the beautiful meal they provided, as well as the fresh food they donate throughout the year.
