About the Farm
Nestled in the Santa Ynez River Valley, Shepherd's Giving Farm is a 20-acre certified organic farm with a single purpose: grow food and give it all away. Every crop harvested on this land is donated through Veggie Rescue to nonprofits serving families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity across Santa Barbara County.
After more than five decades of organic farming, Tom Shepherd, the farmer behind this land and farm, has poured that lifetime of experience into a place of purpose, growth, and giving.

How it Works
Grown Here. Given Away. Every Time.
Every crop grown at Shepherd's Giving Farm is harvested and passed directly to Veggie Rescue, which then distributes it at no cost to over 70 local nonprofit partners across Santa Barbara County. Those partners serve the people who need fresh food most: families, seniors, college students, and children.
No produce is sold. Nothing leaves the farm for profit. The entire operation exists to move fresh, organic food from the ground to the people who need it.
Community Partners Make It Possible
Shepherd's Giving Farm relies on a growing network of volunteers and community groups, especially during planting and harvest seasons.
Your Gift at Work
Shepherd's Giving Farm is funded entirely through donations. There is no commercial revenue, no product sold, and no outside subsidy. Your support goes directly to what it costs to farm: seeds, irrigation, labor, and equipment.
Farming is resource-intensive. But with the right backing, it becomes one of the most powerful tools for good that a community can have.

"Plant a seed. Feed a community."
