As we enter November, I want to share a brief update and extend heartfelt thanks to those who continue to support our mission. We are grateful to Midland School for hosting our October board retreat and for the beautiful meal they provided, as well as the fresh food they donate throughout the year.
We also extend warm appreciation to our longtime Solvang donor who recently welcomed supporters into her lovely home for a reception. Her generosity and hospitality created a meaningful space to highlight our growing impact.
Requests for donated food continue to rise as nonprofits face federal budget cuts and reductions to SNAP benefits. Many are seeing more families, students, and seniors seeking help, and the Foodbank’s reduced volume has increased demand for our deliveries. We now have a waiting list of nonprofits hoping to receive food, and we are actively seeking new food donors to meet this need.
Community volunteers continue to make a difference. Rotary members and local residents gleaned apples in Solvang and collected walnuts in Buellton, adding nutritious food for our partners and strengthening community connections.
We are honored that Sam and Shawnda Marmorstein have selected Veggie Rescue as the benefiting charity for the thirty year anniversary dinner of Los Olivos Cafe and Wine Merchant on December 14. Tickets are available at the following link:

If you missed it, KEYT News recently featured our work and the growing need for fresh food in our community. You can watch the story here:
Thank you for being part of the Veggie Rescue community. We are grateful for your support this November.
